Create a Healthy Environment

OUR GOALS

Healthy Planet Healthy Humans (HPHH) is a project dedicated to encouraging citizens to participate in our environment. This project was created during the height of the pandemic to encourage environmental activism and social distancing. We encourage everyone to go outside and collect trash where you see it, especially in our local parks. Small acts like this can improve our planet’s wellbeing, our own mental and physical health, as well as community building.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

We coordinate volunteers across New Jersey to go out and gather trash and litter from local parks. We ask our volunteers to collect data based on the trash that they pick up, so that we can compile that data. Each month, we propose a challenge to our volunteers, such as collecting the most styrofoam or plastic, or cleaning up the most area. The volunteer or volunteer group that wins the challenge is awarded a prize for that month.

WHAT WE DO

Our volunteers clean up their local communities. We mostly clean up 14 different kinds of trash.

We have volunteers cleaning up parks and neighborhoods across New Jersey.

We beat our goal and had over 100 volunteers in April!
